10 most recent Nigerian Guinness World Record holders

  • Hilda Effiong Bassey, a chef from Nigeria better known by her stage name Hilda Baci, is seeking to shatter the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by a single person.

The 90-hour cook-off, which is being hosted in

Lagos, began on May 11 and is scheduled to end on May 14 (Sunday).

A reference book called The Guinness Book of Records lists world and human records.

One of the most well-known and widely used reference books in the world, it was initially released in 1955 by the Irish Guinness Brewery.

To be considered for a world record listing,

individuals or organisations must provide documentation to the Guinness World Records team and go through a verification process.

Following is a list of recent Nigerians that have broken Guinness World Records:

1. The record holder for the most skips in a minute on one leg is Gbenga Ezekiel. Feb. 20, 2023

2. Divine Ikubor aka Rema holds the record for

“Calm Down” becoming the first No. 1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart, the first regional streaming chart in the history of the world. (May 2023)

3. Bose Omolayo, who in December 2021 lifted 144 kg for the heaviest para power lift by a female in the -79 kg category.

4. Chukwuebuka Ezugha and Victor Richard Kipo, a team of two, have completed the most consecutive sole-to-sole passes in football. Dec. 20, 2021

5. Folashade Oluwafemiayo, who in December 2021 lifted 152.5 kg for the biggest power lift by a girl in the -86 kg category.

6. Chinonso Eche has scored 23 football
