Arsenal is apparently interested in signing Matthijs de Ligt, a star player from the Netherlands, and is gearing up for a busy summer transfer season.

English teams have been pursuing De Ligt for a number of seasons because he is one of the best defenders in Europe. Indeed, Chelsea was quoted at about £105 million to sign the Dutchman before he moved to Bayern Munich in 2022.

And now that Thomas Tuchel is thriving in Munich and Bayern is having a poor season, De Ligt might be available this summer, with Manchester United and Arsenal showing interest.

Matejs de Ligt is a target signing for Arsenal.

Arsenal has reportedly entered the hunt for De Ligt and has even initiated internal talks about making a deal for the defender, according to FootballTransfers.

De Ligt, 24, is another alum of Ajax’s illustrious youth program. He has played for Dutch powerhouses Juventus and Bayern in the past.

At one point, it seemed certain that the defender would move to England, and according to recent sources, he is not happy in Germany.

It’s unclear if Arsenal will be able to gather the necessary money to sign De Ligt and the striker they want.

For the Gunners, though, De Ligt playing with William Saliba is something to truly dream of.

A huge acquisition for the Gunners

The “incredible” De Ligt is undoubtedly a signing that strengthens the Arsenal team and starting lineup, even though Gabriel Magalhaes would likely be disappointed by his presence.

Any top Premier League team would be interested in signing the Dutch defender, who has been observed by English teams for a considerable amount of time.
