Declan Rice VS Caicedo.Who’s better? Check out their latest stats, which reveal that one is grossly overrated while the other is world-class.

Paul Merson compared Declan Rice of Arsenal to Moises Caicedo in his critical assessment of the player’s performance. A year ago, Arsenal made many attempts to sign Caicedo after becoming highly interested in him. The midfielder, though, stayed with the team for the remainder of the season after Brighton rejected them.

Arsenal shifted their attention to Declan Rice the next summer, smashing their transfer record to secure the Englishman’s signing. Rice has shown to be a great addition to the squad, consistently improving and putting on outstanding performances throughout the season.

Caicedo, on the other hand, moved to Chelsea for a record-breaking amount, but Merson says that people generally consider him to be a failure since he hasn’t lived up to the hype.

Merson wrote about him on Sports Keeda, drawing comparisons to Rice:

A few years back, Brighton paid €4 million for the signing of Caicedo, who is currently the most expensive player in Premier League history. It is difficult to improve that much in two to three years. It’s like chalk and cheese when you watch Caicedo and evaluate him against Declan Rice! You have to seize opportunities and create an impression when earning that kind of money, and I don’t think he did that very often while he was a Chelsea player.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Although Caicedo has been a terrible addition for Chelsea, Rice’s inclusion in our lineup has helped us perform better overall.
