Chelsea Football Club has confirmed Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach for the 2023/24 season.

The Blues have given the Argentine a two-year contract with a one-year extension option.

Club owners Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, José E. Feliciano, Mark Walter, and Hansjörg Wyss applauded their sporting team for a “diligent and thoughtful process” that culminated with Pochettino’s arrival.

“The sporting team conducted a diligent and thoughtful process that the Board is proud of,” the owners stated briefly.

“We are overjoyed that Mauricio is joining Chelsea.” Mauricio is an elite coach with a proven track record. “We’re all excited to have him on board,” they continued.

Pochettino is poised to take over as manager on July 1st, as he begins to reorganize the London Club, who had a turbulent season, ending 12th in the English Premier League and missing out on a chance to play in Europe.

Pochettino takes over for Frank Lampard, who has been in charge as a caretaker since Graham Potter was fired after seven months.
