IAN WRIGHT IDENTIFIES DANGEROUS ATALANTA PLAYER ARSENAL SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT

Before the Champions League opener, Ian Wright, a legend of Arsenal, has identified one Atalanta player that Arsenal should be cautious of.

The early-season form of Ademola Lookman has Arsenal legend Ian Wright worried as Mikel Arteta’s team gets ready for their UEFA Champions League match against Atalanta on Thursday. Lookman, who has flourished since joining the Italian team, might be a serious danger to Arsenal’s defensive line.

With 24 league goals in the last two seasons and a hat-trick in the Europa League final victory last season, the Nigerian international has had an incredible comeback at Atalanta. Although he spent the current season in Italy, clubs like Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain expressed interest in him due to his impressive performances.

Lookman’s play in Atalanta’s 3-2 victory over Fiorentina last weekend included both a goal and an assist, demonstrating his particularly strong recent play. Wright was taken aback by his performance, and the former striker for Arsenal discussed it on his podcast, Wrighty’s House.

“Oh my goodness, did you see how he just flicked it for his first assist?” Wright said. “This is such beautiful football, and I’m very happy for him.” Yes, he does worry me. Ben White is on that side, and we should be in for a treat if Lookman is on the wing. They work well together, particularly with him.

Following stints at RB Leipzig, Leicester City, and Fulham, Lookman, now 26 years old, has developed. Wright thinks that his current performance might result in a transfer to one of the best teams in Europe.

“I’m happy for him. From Charlton to now, his journey demonstrates his development. Even though Atlanta has been a fantastic fit for him, I don’t think it’s his ultimate destination. If a significant change occurs soon, it wouldn’t surprise me,” Wright continued.

After overcoming injury concerns, Riccardo Calafiori and Bukayo Saka resumed training on Wednesday, which is a positive sign for Arsenal. Declan Rice, who is available following his suspension for his red card against Brighton prior to the international break, will also be available for Arteta to use.
