According to reports, 26-year-old Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, who is currently playing for Arsenal, is being eyed by La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid. Real Madrid has reportedly revived their interest in the player ahead of the summer transfer window of 2024, according to the Spanish publication Fichajes.

Since moving to England almost seven years ago from Palmeiras, where he was a highly regarded young striker, Gabriel Jesus’ career has been quite unpredictable. Despite his lack of consistent success in the Premier League, Arsenal spent more than €50 million to acquire him from Manchester City prior to the 2022–2023 campaign.

Jesus made an excellent first impression at Arsenal at the start of the 2022–2023 season. But he hasn’t been very consistent in scoring goals, and this season is no exception. In his 11 appearances thus far, he has only managed four goals and one assist. Jesus recently acknowledged that he doesn’t consider goal scoring to be his “strong point,” which drew criticism from both supporters and commentators.

Gabriel Jesus is still a well-liked figure among prospective purchasers despite these difficulties; his market value is currently at €75 million. Real Madrid is especially intrigued because they have admired Jesus since he played for Manchester City. Before he joined Arsenal, the Spanish team was interested in signing him, but a deal was never reached.

Jesus is once again the focus of Real Madrid as they try to bolster their team, particularly in light of the loss of their star striker Karim Benzema to Al-Ittihad this past summer. Real Madrid needs a solid replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who isn’t exactly the most clinical in front of goal, as the player is apparently no longer a target for them.

It won’t be simple to wrest Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, though. Under Mikel Arteta, he is regarded as a vital member of the team, and the Gunners are unlikely to let him go without a fight. Whether Real Madrid will be able to sign the Brazilian come summertime is still to be seen.
