MIKEL ARTETA SENDS STRONG MESSAGE TO ARSENAL PLAYERS DESPITE WOLVES VICTORY

While Arsenal defeated Wolves 2-0 on Saturday, Mikel Arteta has sent a very strong message to the players.

Despite being pleased with his team’s 2-0 victory over Wolves in their Premier League opener, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta emphasized the need for more development.

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz both scored goals to give the Gunners, who plan to contend for the championship once more this year, a solid start.

Saka’s cross found its way to Havertz, who scored first with a well-placed header. Havertz then set up Saka for a powerful shot at the near post, which doubled the lead.

Despite the favorable outcome, Arteta expressed frustration that his team occasionally lost control, especially in the second half.

“Definitely room for improvement, but overall, I’m very happy,” Arteta said to Sky Sports. “In particular, the moments in the second half when we lost so many easy balls due to our lack of control. I’m not sure if it was exhaustion or something else, but Wolves deserve praise as well. In certain circumstances, we must complete the tasks more skillfully.

In an interview with the BBC, Arteta emphasized the importance of his team playing more clinically in front of goal. “At 1-0, it was insufficient. In the first half, we had plenty of opportunities to win the game, but we missed them. All in all, very pleased. We ought to have opened up the scoreline disparity much sooner.

When Declan Rice was replaced by Gabriel Jesus in the 85th minute of the match, there was cause for concern toward the end of the game. Arteta did, however, clarify that Rice was only experiencing cramps and was not hurt.

Arteta said, “He was cramping a little bit.” “This preseason hasn’t been the longest for him.” He gave an amazing performance today and was truly trying.

After missing his entire first season with the team due to a chronic knee injury, Jurrien Timber returned to the field as a substitute. But the new addition to Arsenal, Riccardo Calafiori, did not play in the game.
