Journalist claims Arsenal would be willing to pay up to £60m for prolific goal scorer

While Mikel Arteta gets Arsenal ready to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title once more, the team is still searching for a new striker.

Even though they are getting closer to winning their first league title since 2004, the Gunners have not been able to overcome Man City’s dominance.

This summer, they added David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori to bolster their already outstanding defense.

The need for a new striker at the Emirates Stadium has been alleged, and the Gunners have been connected to several attackers.

This summer, Arsenal has been linked to Victor Osimhen, Benjamin Sesko, Ivan Toney, and Viktor Gyokeres; however, they have not signed a striker, so the wait goes on.

Journalist Steve Kay claimed on KS1TV (via The Boot Room) that Arsenal would be ready to spend up to £60 million to acquire Gyokeres, an attacker for Sporting Lisbon.

The Premier League’s biggest teams have refrained from signing the Sweden international because of the striker’s £86 million release clause in his contract.

Kay said:

“Bruno Guimaraes is a really good player. Is he a midfielder worth £100 million?” That turned off Man City and Arsenal, in my opinion. We would definitely look at him if he became available, similar to Gyokeres, at a price of between £50 and £60 million, but at that price, I believe they pretty much said no right away.

Arsenal’s Gyokeres may be the teammate to Man City’s Erling Haaland.

Gyokeres led the Portuguese team in goals scored in all competitions last season with 43 goals in 50 appearances.

His goal-scoring record is incredible, and he could provide the Gunners with the extra offensive firepower they require.

Even though Kai Havertz had an outstanding season at the Emirates Stadium, spearheading the attack, the Gunners are searching for an upfront player to match Man City’s Erling Haaland.

Acquiring an additional attacker could round out Arsenal’s roster and solve a significant problem they encountered in the previous summer.
