Paul Scholes says Arsenal could win the Premier League if they sign £50m Tottenham target

Arsenal is still searching for additions during the summer transfer window.

Despite their busy schedule, the Gunners have only added two players: Riccardo Calafiori, who was brought in from Bologna in Serie A, and David Raya, whose loan was converted to a permanent deal.

Now that a new midfielder is needed, Mikel Merino is reportedly Arsenal’s top target for that role, according to reports.

After that is finished, a lot of people believe that Arsenal will look into the attacker market. Paul Scholes has recommended a player that he believes will help the Gunners win the Premier League in 2024–2025.

Paul Scholes suggests Ivan Toney to Arsenal

Among the most accomplished players in Premier League history is Paul Scholes.

Having won 11 league titles while playing for Manchester United, the Englishman is well-versed in what it takes to compete for the championship.

Arsenal has been very close to winning the Premier League title the past two years. They were only two points short the previous season and finished five points behind Manchester City in the 2022–2023 campaign.

Nowadays, Scholes thinks Arsenal needs assistance at the top of the pitch to accomplish the expectation that they will go one step further.

Ivan Toney has been recommended to the Gunners by the legend of Manchester United.

Scholes thinks that if the Brentford player joins Arsenal, he will ensure 25 goals a season. The player is attracting interest from Tottenham this window (GiveMeSport).

That could make the difference in the title race.

According to Scholes, adding a center-forward would be beneficial on The Overlap. Yes, it would help if Man City signed an all-star number nine who could score twenty to twenty-five goals.

“The person who has received the most attention is Ivan Toney. Who is he? 28 years old? He could probably score twenty-five goals for an Arsenal team. I believe he could score 25 goals for many teams.

The one big reason why Arsenal don’t want Ivan Toney

For more than a year, Toney was connected to a transfer to Arsenal.

The English striker is a fantastic player and is available for approximately £50 million (talkSPORT). Large and powerful, he can link plays up, excels in the air, and most importantly, is deadly in front of goal.

Although Toney is a perfect fit for Arsenal and many other teams looking to add a striker, Arteta has determined he isn’t the right player for the Gunners.

This is because Arsenal hasn’t been impressed by Toney’s behavior; they don’t like the way he has occasionally carried himself during games.

Since Arteta is known for being a strict disciplinarian, the last thing he would want to do is add someone who might cause discord among the team.

Even though Toney is excellent, Arsenal does not need him this summer.
