Arsenal is reportedly offering Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori a salary of £65,000 per week in an attempt to entice him to join them before their rivals do. The team is pushing for a deal to sign Calafiori before anyone else can steal a march.

In contrast to other teams, the Gunners have been cautious when it comes to signing center backs in the past. In recent years, they have only signed Gabriel and William Saliba, while rival Premier League teams have added players like Josko Gvardiol, Wesley Fofana, Micky van de Ven, and Lisandro Martinez, to mention a few. That could change in the upcoming weeks as the north London team is reportedly closing in on Calafiori, and according to TuttoBologna, they have announced their personal terms for the former Roma player in an attempt to entice him to the team as they strive for their first top-flight championship in twenty-one years.

Arsenal Has Extended Better Terms Offer to Riccardo Calafiori

The defender might soon be traveling to north London.

According to the report, Arsenal is making headway in their pursuit of the defender. Mikel Arteta’s team plans to complete the deal as soon as possible, and the north London team is still pressing for his signature.

The club and Bologna have not yet reached a transfer agreement, but because they complied with the terms of the agreement, they have a “significant” advantage over Chelsea and Juventus, among other interested parties. The defender was recently referred to as “one of the best in the world” by Fabrizio Romano.

Calafiori is seeking a contract worth €4 million a year from Arsenal, which would translate to £65,000 a week. Bologna, on the other hand, is seeking a sum of money around £43 million to let go of their star defender in the near future.
