“I Can’t Believe We Are Getting Both Of Them For Just £100m” Mikel Arteta Can’t Believe His Luck After Arsenal’s Double Bid Of £45M and £55m was Accepted

Arsenal’s summer transfer window opens on Friday, June 14, so it appears that they will be stepping up their plans over the next few days. It appears unlikely that any early deals will be completed, though, as that day fell on the same day as the European championships began.

The following week sees the start of the Copa America, with several players who Arsenal is interested in playing for their country in June and July. Although many of the players who could leave aren’t going to Germany or the US, those two tournaments could still have an impact on exits.

A few targets who will be busy in the coming weeks are Benjamin Sesko, Joshua Kimmich, Douglas Luiz, and Martin Zubimendi. This will probably cause any transfer negotiations to be delayed. However, significant information is still coming to light, with the Gunners receiving a double boost from two other teams.

Luiz transfer boost

Luiz is still a target for Arsenal, and the difficult financial circumstances facing Aston Villa may work in the Gunners’ favor.

Emirates Stadium made three bids for the Brazil international two years ago, but Villa resisted and eventually signed their star midfield player to a new deal. Since then, his stock has increased dramatically, and as a result, according to Brazilian journalist Rudy Galetti, Villa may have to sell before June 30.

“As Arsenal is probably aware of Villa’s situation, it might be a deal they look to prioritize,” states football.london. Given that the 26-year-old has had yet another fantastic season at Villa Park, Arsenal’s long-standing interest may resurface and intensify.

Luiz is undoubtedly among the best candidates to replace Thomas Partey, and the idea of a midfield three consisting of him, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard is enticing. Villa will naturally not want to break up with Luiz, but they might have to sell some valuable assets, and Luiz might be one of them.

Bayern to Palhinha domino effect

It appears that the first significant transfer of the summer window will be Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich. Twelve months ago, the Bavarians believed they had signed the Fulham midfielder, but the move fell through at the last minute. It doesn’t appear that will happen this time.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that Palhinha and Bayern have agreed on personal terms, and talks to finalize the deal are still ongoing. An offer of about €45 million (£38 million) is anticipated to come in soon after the previous one of €35 million (£29.8 million) was turned down.

“Though Palhinha has been tangentially linked to Arsenal, the move could actually have a significant impact on Arteta and Edu,” claims football.london.

Bayern appears to be acquiring the true holding midfielder they have long lacked, but Palhinha’s move may be a prelude to Joshua Kimmich’s departure.

If an extension is not reached before the 29-year-old’s current contract expires in 2025, Bayern may have to sell quickly.

Kimmich would give Arsenal more options in the midfield and depth at right back, as he demonstrated in Bayern’s two Champions League matches against the Gunners. Additionally, Barcelona has chosen not to pursue Kimmich, which may allow the Gunners to have first dibs on signing him should he decide to leave the team.
