Southgate told he ‘can’t ignore’ massive England decision that’ll enrage Arsenal and split fans

Cole Palmer should be chosen for England this summer instead of Bukayo Saka, according to Gareth Southgate, a decision that would annoy Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.

Palmer signed a £42.5 million contract to leave Manchester City and join Chelsea, one of the “Big Six” teams. The attacker made the decision to depart in order to establish himself as a consistent starter somewhere, despite Pep Guardiola’s request that he stay at City.

Palmer has benefited greatly from the transfer, as has Chelsea. Even though Chelsea is spending a lot of money on other players, the Englishman has emerged as their primary creative spark and key player.

In 45 games, Palmer has managed an amazing 26 goals and 13 assists, with 21 goals in 31 Premier League appearances.

Palmer is only 22 years old, so those numbers are all the more amazing because he still has room to grow.

The Manchester-born playmaker, who has already earned caps against North Macedonia and Malta, has also pushed his way into Southgate’s England lineup.

Palmer and Saka are both extremely effective at right wing, so Southgate will have a difficult time choosing this summer.

Saka has had an excellent season as well, tallying 20 goals and dishing out 14 assists in 46 games; however, Palmer will challenge him relentlessly.

Cole Palmer to replace Bukayo Saka at Arsenal?

Michael Owen, who played 89 times for England between 1998 and 2008, believes that even though Palmer is the star player at Chelsea, he should be selected by Southgate over Saka.

A move like that would probably anger Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, and divide England supporters evenly.

The pundit declared, “I would now start Cole Palmer over Bukayo Saka.””I don’t think Palmer’s form and quality can be disregarded much longer.

“He was in my squad a few months ago, but he’s now among the Premier League’s best players.” Even on a struggling team, he could win Player of the Year and even the Golden Boot.I now consider him to be essential. He would be on the right side of me. He and Foden would be on the right and center, followed by Rice as the lone number six, Bellingham and Foden as the eights and tens, and Cole on the right.
