Rio Ferdinand now thinks £62m Man City star is actually the Player of The Year – not Phil Foden

Rio Ferdinand stated that he no longer believes Phil Foden to be the Player of the Year and that Manchester City has a star.

Ferdinand did not make it clear if he was talking about the Premier League Player of the Season award or the PFA Players’ Player of the Year honor.

When it comes to the Premier League, the well-known pundit stated last month that Foden is at the “top of the tree” and the “Player of the Season.”

Rio Ferdinand has since changed his mind, though.

Because there have been so many outstanding players in the English premier league this season, such is the nature of the competition.

particularly among the top three teams—Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal.

Opinions see City trailing the other two teams by just one point, and the title race being full of unexpected turns.

Rio Ferdinand was “screaming [Andres] Iniesta” every time he picked up the ball, Laura Woods told Phil Foden during the Sky Blues’ 4-1 victory over Aston Villa.

According to Rio Ferdinand, the player of the year is Phil Foden’s teammate at City.

The legendary player for Manchester United further asserted that following Phil Foden’s hat-trick against Aston Villa, Kevin De Bruyne may have felt under pressure to perform well in Manchester City’s 4-2 victory over Crystal Palace.

It’s getting harder for commentators to ignore how crucial the “Stockport Iniesta” has become to this City team as he keeps getting better and better.

But these discussions about who the best player in the Premier League is will probably never end, particularly now that players like De Bruyne and Haaland appear to be finding their form again.

Furthermore, one really discovers which players are built for high-stress situations during the last stages of a title run-in.

Luckily for Pep Guardiola, he has a wealth of players at his disposal, including Foden, De Bruyne, and Haaland, who are known to perform well under pressure.

One more of them is Rodri, who Rio Ferdinand now believes should win the Premier League Player of the Year award.

Rio Ferdinand originally remarked about Rodri, saying, “The worst game I’ve seen Rodri play was Palace at the weekend because he made one mistake and they almost scored.”

“Guys, I also can’t deny that Rodri is currently my Player of the Year.”

On the official FIVE YouTube channel, he stated, “I think [Phil] Foden’s close, but I think Cole Palmer’s close, Ollie Watkins is close.”
