BREAKING NEWS: Following Napoli's disappointing loss to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, standout player Victor Osimhen of Napoli has indicated his desire to join Chelsea during the upcoming summer transfer window, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

During Napoli’s Champions League match against Barcelona, Victor Osimhen had a big chance to impress Premier League suitors.

But his performance did not live up to the hype, especially when it came to Chelsea and other clubs.

Scouts from a number of top clubs were concerned about Osimhen because he played the whole game without displaying his customary flair.

The Nigerian striker has drawn interest from a number of elite teams, with Chelsea apparently leading the chase.

Even Didier Drogba and Jon Mikel Obi, two former players, have been enlisted by Chelsea to try and convince Osimhen to join them.

Osimhen has a release clause in his contract, so even with his stellar record and skill set, any prospective transfer is expected to come with a high price tag—likely between €120 and €130 million.

Osimhen did, however, have a decline in form this season, scoring just 13 goals as opposed to his remarkable 31 goals in the previous campaign.

His recent performance against Barcelona made this decline especially clear.

Osimhen found it difficult to make an impact during the game; he only managed one shot on goal and showed little interest in important areas of the game.

He lost duels all the time, gave up possession all the time, and was caught offside several times.

This poor performance fits into a larger pattern of disappointing performances throughout the season in pivotal games.

Osimhen has accomplished things in the past, but his current performance begs the question of whether he’s ready to join a premier team like Chelsea, especially given the possible record-breaking transfer fee.
