BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea's manager, Mauricio Pochettino, reveals which Liverpool player, out of the starting eleven, had a poor game despite Chelsea's victory over Luton Town.

Liverpool held their top spot in the Premier League table on Wednesday even though they suffered a defeat to Luton Town.

Liverpool was behind in the first half at Anfield until Chiedozie Ogbene’s unexpected goal in the 12th minute. But the second half produced an incredible comeback.

The 56th-minute header from Virgil van Dijk signaled the start of Liverpool’s rally.

Following goals from Harvey Elliott, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo, Liverpool won 4-1 to take a commanding lead in the table and boost confidence ahead of their upcoming Carabao Cup final match against Chelsea.

With nine important players out due to injury on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp had his work cut out for him as manager of a severely diminished team.

Notwithstanding these challenges, Klopp was pleased with the way the young players rose to the challenge.

With an eye toward the future, Klopp expressed his skepticism about whether injured players would be available for forthcoming games, highlighting the need for a day-by-day strategy because of the unpredictability of the situation.

“Let’s observe and wait. We will give it our all as long as we have eleven players, that much is clear. The only guarantee I can offer is that.

Ahead of Sunday’s pivotal match against Liverpool, Chelsea is keeping a careful eye on the health of Thiago Silva (groin) and Carney Chukwuemeka (ankle).

Chukwuemeka will not play against Manchester City on Saturday due to an ankle injury he sustained during training last week.

In contrast, Silva’s groin problem forced him to be substituted during the team’s victory over Crystal Palace, and he was later ruled out of the draw with Manchester City.

Silva and Chukwuemeka did not participate in Wednesday’s Cobham training.

Chelsea’s injury list is still quite long, with multiple players out for the foreseeable future.

For the forthcoming final, Benoit Badiashile, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu are all out.

Despite these difficulties, Liverpool and Chelsea are preparing for a much awaited match that could have a big impact on their individual campaigns.
