NEWS FLASH: Jamie Carragher identifies the Chelsea player whose future is virtually sealed following the draw with Manchester City.

Thiago Silva’s tenure at Chelsea may be coming to an end, according to Jamie Carragher, who noted that in the most recent game against Manchester City, Silva was overshadowed by younger teammates.

Even though Silva might make a comeback in the Carabao Cup final following an injury sustained against Crystal Palace, supporters may favor the strong defensive combination of Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill.

After Chelsea’s strong showing against City, which earned them a point, Carragher praised Disasi, calling him the game’s MVP and equating him with Chelsea great John Terry.

Since joining in 2020, Silva has been a standout defender, but this season, he hasn’t played at his best.

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager, has nevertheless depended on him time and time again this Premier League season.

Given Silva’s absence from recent important away games, Carragher feels Silva’s time at Chelsea is drawing to an end.

Given that Silva’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign and that Disasi and Colwill are playing well, Carragher believes it will be difficult for Silva to return to the team unless an injury occurs.

Carragher stresses the significance of setting the foundation for the future even though Chelsea has the cup final ahead of them.

In light of Disasi and Colwill’s possible partnership and the arrival of a new young center-back, Carragher believes Chelsea should stop depending on Thiago Silva.
