The officials and referees involved in the Chelsea vs. Manchester City match received unfortunate news from FIFA recently, which led to their dismissal from their positions.

In response to Rodri’s grievances, Pep Guardiola mockingly waved away questions about the officiating during Manchester City’s match against Chelsea.

City’s dissatisfaction was evident throughout the match as several calls seemed to go against them and the hosts were not given any penalties even after numerous VAR checks for possible ones.

After the game, Rodri bemoaned, “I don’t want to dwell on the referee, but I can’t remember a match with so many VAR reviews and none in our favor, come on, man.”

Guardiola questioned about these remarks after the game and asked for details on particular instances. Which ones? I’m not quite sure,” he answered.

“I can offer my opinions if you can clarify the precise choices. I’m not sure, though, to what you’re referring. We must play better in the opening half.

Guardiola joked, “Which one?” in jest in response to questions concerning the late penalty appeal concerning the handball by Ruben Dias and Levi Colwill. Which incident took place inside the Chelsea locker room? I must have overlooked it.

Rodri agreed with his manager that there is a need for improvement, despite his frustrations with the choices. The midfield player underlined the value of defensive stability and personal responsibility.

“We have to perform better in individual situations; we can’t afford to let the game get away from us like that,” he said. “It was within our control.”

I’m not pointing fingers; if we want to compete for the title, we need to accept responsibility as a team.

“We believed we had the momentum and the chance to win, but luck doesn’t always cooperate with us.

It could be exasperating. Although Rodri did not criticize the referee directly, he did acknowledge the high number of VAR reviews and the poor results his team had experienced. “It’s time to move on, but the frustration never goes away,”he said in closing.
