Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino identifies the ONE Arsenal player that Arteta needs to protect after the game is won. “Arteta is the one demoting this team; if not, I don’t see why you’re keeping him till 90 minutes when the game is already won; subsequently, you’ll hear He’s injured, which is really bad.”

"Arteta is the one demoting this team; if not, I don't see why you're keeping him till 90 minutes when the game is already won; subsequently, you'll hear He's injured, which is really bad."

Jamie O’Hara, a former Tottenham player and Talk Sport analyst, thinks Arsenal should substitute Bukayo Saka in games where they already have a sizable lead in order to protect him.

Saka has been an incredible asset to Arsenal over the past two seasons, contributing significantly to the team’s comeback. Mikel Arteta usually leaves him on the field for extended periods of time in order to maximize his impact on the game. His consistent performances have made him a valuable asset for the Gunners.

Saka has scored twice in each of his last two games, demonstrating the effectiveness of this strategy. However, O’Hara thinks the team should consider substituting Saka early in games when Arsenal is clearly ahead in order to reduce the possibility of injuries.

Speaking on Talk Sports, he said:

“You are fighting for the championship, so you want to keep him in shape. You have a lot of games coming up. When the game was over today, he made yet another incredible effort to protect and pull him off.

Only Arsenal’s viewpoint

We cannot afford to lose Saka to injury, so O’Hara’s worries are understandable. We can take him off the field in games that we have won handily in order to prevent a late tackle that might keep him out for a long time.
