UEFA Chief Asserts Confidence In The Correctness Of The Financial Fair Play (FFP) Charges Against Manchester City, While Liverpool Awaits Developments.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin reaffirms the correctness of UEFA’s investigation and punishment of Manchester City for Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches in 2018.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin reiterates that Manchester City’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) violations in 2018 were the basis for UEFA’s 2018 inquiry and sanction.

Ceferin highlights trust in the impartial body’s ruling, even in light of City’s triumphant appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Even if the allegations against City are still pending in 2023, the Premier League’s recent penalties for other teams in violation of the Profitability and Sustainability criteria make us wonder what might happen to City.

Ceferin does not criticize the current state of affairs in England, instead expressing respect for the judicial system. Liverpool and other rivals of City are anxious to see how the matter turns out; a trial date has been set.

Richard Masters, the CEO of the Premier League, notes the annoyance of the supporters but sets aside City’s accusations, highlighting a distinct background to the proceedings.
