Arsenal appeared to want to splash the cash again the next summer, having already spent an initial £100 million on Declan Rice and £65 million on Kai Havertz during the previous summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been informed of a release provision in Michael Olise’s recently signed Crystal Palace contract, which is estimated to be worth over £50 million, according to talkSPORT.
After Chelsea exercised the £35 million release clause in his previous Palace contract, the 22-year-old forward was on the verge of signing a summer move to Chelsea.
In front of next summer, Olise is beginning to draw greater interest, and the Gunners are eager to sign him.
The Frenchman is a good fit for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s plans to strengthen his offensive game and give Gabriel Martinelli some competition.
In just nine Premier League games this season, the Palace star has five goals and an assist. When they visit Emirates Stadium to play the Gunners later on Saturday, he will be anxious to make an impression.
When the two teams met in March 2023, Olise caught the attention of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, and it goes without saying that Arteta wants to sign the winger.
“They are armed. Regarding the three Palace players at the time, Guardiola remarked, “[Wilfried] Zaha is there, [Michael] Olise, and [Eberechi] Eze, they are incredible strikers and they have incredible threat.”
“They are excellent attacking players and have poise.”
