Amadou Onana, a midfielder for Everton, is anticipated to cost Arsenal at least £60 million when he is acquired in January.

The 22-year-old, who reportedly paid £33 million to move from Lille to Goodison Park in June 2022, has since established himself as a vital first-team player for manager Sean Dyche’s Toffees.

Box-to-box midfielder Onana has made 56 appearances for Everton across all competitions, scoring three goals and dishing out three assists. This season, he has made 21 appearances.

The Belgian international’s Everton contract is set to expire in June 2027, but he has been linked to a high-profile transfer to a European team.

Onana’s future is reportedly being closely monitored by Manchester United in light of rumors that Everton may have to offload some of its best players in order to balance their books and stay out of trouble with the FFP.

Onana, meanwhile, is reportedly drawing serious interest from Arsenal, who reportedly spoke with Everton about a potential January transfer for the midfield player.

The Toffees have set a £60 million asking price for Onana and are not planning to sell him this month, according to Football Insider.

Onana is considered a key member of Dyche’s first team, as the team is currently fighting for its life in the Premier League after losing 10 points in November.

Romelu Lukaku’s £75 million move from Everton to Manchester United in 2017 remains the club’s all-time record sale.

After shelling out more than £200 million for Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber last summer, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will make a sizable payment this month.
