Alexis Mac Allister, a player worth £35 million for Liverpool, is expected to miss the match against Arsenal, according to assistant manager Pep Lijnders.
In an attempt to increase Arsenal’s lead over the leaders of the Premier League, Mikel Arteta will be looking to win at Anfield this weekend.
Arsenal overcame Brighton 2-0 to overtake Liverpool in the standings, while Jurgen Klopp’s team was forced to settle for a goalless draw with Manchester United. During the Sunday game, the Reds had trouble coming up with inventive midfield plays and were unable to penetrate a strong United defense.
Prior to Liverpool’s League Cup quarterfinal matchup with West Ham, Lijnders gave an update on Mac Allister’s health, indicating that he would not be playing in the matchup against Arsenal.
