Bukayo Saka speaks on his big injury

During Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Sevilla last night, Bukayo Saka had a near-accident, adding to Mikel Arteta’s mounting injury worries. Saka’s outstanding performance, which delighted fans at the Emirates Stadium by scoring and setting up Leandro Trossard, has put the Gunners very close to qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages.

The 22-year-old was hurt in the final seconds of the game after making a strange landing after a header challenge. Even though the team’s physiotherapists attended to him right away and he made an effort to continue, Jakub Kiwior eventually took his place a short while later.

During his post-match press conference, Arteta expressed his optimism regarding Saka’s fitness. He claimed, “It was just a kick, and I heard from the physios on the radio that he wasn’t happy to continue.”

Arteta continued, “So he will have some discomfort, but hopefully I am going to assume he will be OK.” Saka was fouled four times in the first 14 minutes of the game, none of which resulted in a yellow card, so it was another night where the opposition defense gave him a rough time.

It’s interesting that he didn’t discuss his injury, which could indicate that it isn’t a serious issue and raise the possibility that he will be ready for the forthcoming game against Burnley. With Eddie Nketiah added to the list of injured players, Arteta will be crossing his fingers, especially since he was left out of the team that defeated Sevilla.
