Jamie Carragher believes that in order to defeat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and win the Premier League this year, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal needs to sign Ivan Toney.

Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, is a player that Arsenal should consider taking a chance on, says the former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports analyst.

Carragher doubts that the 27-year-old international player for England will have much of an impact at Arsenal.

But according to the Sky Sports pundit, Arsenal needs to take a chance on Toney.

In late September, The Mirror reported that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal were all interested in signing Toney.

Jamie Carragher wants Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, to sign with Arsenal.

Carragher stated of Toney and Arsenal, per the Daily Mail, “Yes, he could [join Arsenal], and he is a different type of striker.”

“He’s moving to a big club, and I’m a huge fan of his. Can you handle the scrutiny?” That is not what Brentford anticipates.

“The talent is undeniable, but can Arsenal win the Premier League?”

“Arsenal may have to take that risk; it will be challenging to overcome Manchester City if they don’t address that position and the goalkeeper situation.”

In my opinion, Arsenal might have trouble acquiring Ivan Toney in January.

I think Arsenal will have a difficult time acquiring Ivan Toney from Brentford, a Premier League rival, in the January transfer window.

Rumor has it that Toney may want to leave the Bees midway through the season.

That could be the case, but remember that he has a contract with Brentford.

Being a seasoned Premier League team, Brentford has little financial motivation to deal any of its players, particularly in the middle of the campaign.

Instead of signing Toney in January 2024, I believe Arsenal will do so in the summer of 2024.

Over his career, Toney has played in 68 Premier League games.

The striker has nine assists and 32 goals in those contests.

With 24 points from 11 games, Arsenal is currently three points behind leaders and defending champion Manchester City in the Premier League standings.
