“He made a mistake of thinking we don’t need him and now we are missing that dynamic in the game” – Ian Wright claims Arsenal are suffering due to absence of player Arteta sold

Arsenal’s poor performance against West Ham United on November 1 led to their elimination from the Carabao Cup. Another unsatisfactory away day against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park came next. Anthony Gordon’s controversial goal in the 64th minute helped the Magpies defeat their Premier League opponents 1-0.

The former striker for Arsenal determined which players were missing key pieces for the north Londoners after the results were announced. He emphasized the value of Xhaka from the previous campaign as well as the absence of Ghana international Thomas Partey due to injury.

The legendary Ian Wright of Arsenal claims that Granit Xhaka, who cost £22 million to move to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, is missed by the Gunners. Wright’s comments were made soon after Mikel Arteta’s team lost two straight games across all categories.

The injury to Thomas Partey has, in my opinion, dealt us a serious blow. I miss Xhaka, Xhaka’s personality, and the way he supported him. I believe that dynamic is absent from the game.

Granit Xhaka was considered a group leader as well, having scored goals from an advanced midfield position the previous season. The Swiss international has seven goals and seven assists in the 2022–23 league season before departing Emirates Stadium.

He paid £30 million to move from Borussia Monchengladbach to Arsenal in the summer of 2016. Xhaka has since made 297 appearances for them across all competitions, contributing 29 assists and 23 goals. In addition to other honors, he won two FA Cups while residing in north London.
