REVEALED: “I asked him to review it cautiously but he said………”, – David Raya reveal shocking referee reply to VAR decision Arsenal

“I requested him to carefully examine it, but he stated…” David Raya revealed the shocking referee response to the VAR ruling.

At St. James’ Park on Saturday night, Mikel Arteta’s team was defeated 1-0 by the Magpies thanks to a goal from Gordon that was the only goal of the match.

There was some disagreement, though, over whether Gordon was offside before the ball struck the back of the net, Joelinton fouled Gabriel, or the ball simply went out of play.

Raya believed that the goal ought to have been disqualified on all three grounds, but VAR ruled that it stood.

The Spaniard says that the defeat has angered and dissatisfied the Arsenal players, who are currently three points behind champions Manchester City in third place.

“We’re all annoyed,” he said. I witnessed the ball leave the field of play. Although Joelinton shoved Gabriel in the back, I think that was a foul on Gabriel’s part, but the call was upheld. I think that was not supposed to occur. And that was off-base, in my opinion. We feel really let down.

We did a great job competing away from home today. It’s a challenging place to visit. Given the way we played, we deserved better than to lose. Since the score was so close, a draw would have been more equitable. It’s obvious that everyone in the locker room is irate and upset.

After the crushing loss, Raya said, Arteta had nothing to say to his players, but they voiced their displeasure with the way it happened.

The goalie for his boss stated, “He only had a few words to say, he said he was proud of how we competed but he is frustrated with the decision.”
