“Move aside, you are not reliable for me anymore” – Mikel Arteta poised to send Arsenal key man to the bench after timely error at West Ham as Edu Gasper looks to sign Top-class star as his replacement

After a critical error against West Ham, Mikel Arteta is prepared to bench Arsenal’s star player in favor of trying to find a top-tier replacement. “Move aside, you are not reliable for me anymore,” Arteta said.

Mikel Arteta may soon expand his options at right back.

Arsenal is reportedly searching for additional players to bolster their roster for the remainder of the season as the January transfer window draws near.

Although Mikel Arteta’s team is off to a fantastic start in the 2023–24 Premier League, roster depth seems to be a persistent problem this early in the season.

Arsenal set a new premier league record last season by leading the standings for the longest period of time without taking home the championship, despite losing out on their first league title since 2004.

The effects of the demanding schedule were evident as the north Londoners struggled in the home straight, and injuries struck with little depth to replace multiple key players in the starting lineup.

In order to close the gaps in the aspirational young squad, Arteta and Edu had to look for additional reinforcements during the summer. However, with injuries occurring frequently this season, it is possible that more additions will be made in the winter.

Many players have already been connected to moves to the Emirates in January, with reports suggesting that Arteta is looking for players who can play a variety of positions on the field.

Arsenal’s potential transfer targets

Even though they only signed Gabriel Jesus last summer, Arsenal has been linked to two forwards: Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig and Ivan Toney of Brentford.

The Mirror claims that the Bees would take offers for Toney that did not fall below £100 million. Toney is reportedly adored by the Gunners for his ability to score goals in the Premier League.

Regarding attackers who are valued at nine figures by their employers, 90min reports that Arsenal has made contact with Santiago Gimenez, a star player at Feyenoord who is also wanted by Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Tottenham.

The 22-year-old Mexican is believed to be valued by the Eredivisie club at €100 million (£86 million), which is a reasonable price considering that he has 13 goals in ten league games this season.

Andre Trindade, who turned down a move to Anfield earlier this summer, is reportedly a target for the Gunners and is believed to be interested in Liverpool.

The Brazilian is believed to be a defensive midfielder that the north Londoners adore, and he has a £34 million release clause at Fluminense.

The Fiorentina genius Michael Kayode, who has made a name for himself in Serie A this season, is reportedly another target of Arteta’s attention.

Arsenal sent scouts to watch the right-back in action and expressed “above all” interest in signing him, according to Calciomercato in Italy.
