“I need someone to explain to me how this guy plays for my Darling club, he’s worst than Man Utd players”- Arsenal icon Ian Wright blasts 24-years old Arsenal star for making Arsenal lose 3-1 to WestHam in the Carabao Cup last night

“This guy is worse than Manchester United players at my club. I need someone to explain how he plays,” says Arsenal legend Ian Wright, berating the 24-year-old star for being the reason behind Arsenal’s 3-1 Carabao Cup loss to West Ham last night.

WEST HAM UNITED KICK ARSENAL OUT OF THE CARABAO CUP, SAYS IAN WRIGJT.

It was Arsenal’s second loss in all competitions this season when they lost to West Ham United at the London Stadium on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta made a number of costly changes to his starting lineup for the match.

Sixteen minutes in, West Ham took the lead thanks to an unfortunate own goal by Ben White. Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen added more goals in the second half to make things worse for Arsenal.

TalkSPORT analyst and Arsenal supporter Darren Bent was not pleased with the Gunners’ performance and singled out Kai Havertz for criticism following the match. Martin Odegaard’s goal in the 96th minute was merely a consolation for the Gunners.

The former striker responded to the Germany international’s performance on social media platform X.

Arsenal was completely absent from the game tonight; West Ham should be commended. I don’t want to focus on just one player, but someone has to justify the $65 million investment in Kai Havertz and his value to the team. In fifteen games this season, I haven’t witnessed anything noteworthy.

Alongside Jorginho and Fabio Vieira in a three-man midfield, the 24-year-old did not make an impression or exert much control over the West Ham match.

In the second half, Declan Rice, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Odegaard took the places of Jorginho, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson, and Eddie Nketiah, respectively.

But the changes were insufficient, as the home team held on for a well-earned victory over a subpar Arsenal squad.

It is hard to blame Arteta for giving some of his fringe players a chance to shine, but the Gunners, along with Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United, have missed out on a great chance to win a competition of this kind.

Havertz struggled to create opportunities and was largely quiet throughout the game, despite going close to scoring twice in the first half.

He hasn’t had much success since leaving Chelsea to join Arsenal in the summer, and this Saturday when the Gunners go to St. James Park to play Newcastle United in the Premier League, he is expected to be on the bench.
