“I don’t even know how they determine the Balon d’Or rankings, let alone how Andre Onana is going to finish ahead of me and Odegard.”- Arsenal captain Martin Odegard and star player Bukayo Saka expressed their displeasure after Saka and Man Utd’s shameful goalkeeper Andre Onana lost the Balon d’Or award.
The Ballon d’Or results for Saka, Odegaard, and Ramsdale showed that they all finished behind Andre Onana.
In the 2023 Ballon d’Or voting, Bukayo Saka came in 24th, Onana 23rd, and Martin Odegaard 28th; in the Yashin Trophy competition, Aaron Ramsdale came in 8th.
Martin and Bukayo’s performances to lead us to a Premier League title challenge in 2022–2023 earned them nominations for the coveted men’s award, which has been given out since 1956.
Additionally, because of his valiant efforts between our posts during that same campaign, Aaron was shortlisted for the first time ever for the World’s Best Goalkeeper award.
