Thierry Henry named one Arsenal star that was the best player on the pitch last night

Thierry Henry praised an Arsenal player who was named the game’s best player last night, saying, “He was the only player on the pitch with 92% pass accuracy, he won the most duels and had the most touches while also contributing significantly in attack and defense.”

Friday night, Arsenal defeated Sevilla 2-1 in the Champions League group stage thanks to a superb performance from Gabriel Jesus.

Chelsea overcame the Gunners away from home last weekend. They were outplayed the whole game, but yet managed a 2-2 draw.

In a contest that was evenly matched between the two teams, Jesus’ outstanding goal contributions were what separated the team in either half.

Just before halftime, Jesus made a fantastic Cruyff spin in his box to set up Gabriel Martinelli for the goal, giving Arsenal the lead.

Sevilla’s defense was forced to give up on the match by Martinelli’s quickness. He finished into an empty net after dodging the goalkeeper with incredible grace.

Jesus’s excellent play shortly after the half handed the Gunners a two-goal lead.

The Brazil international scored with a curling attempt into the upper right corner of Orjan Nyland after being able to cut inside from the left wing.

Nemanja Gudelj’s spectacular header in the 58th minute cut the margin in half for Sevilla, but Arsenal held on to win.

Even though David Raya’s punch nearly resulted in an own goal during stoppage time, the Gunners prevailed.

Jesus, in our opinion, was by far the most outstanding performer. In addition to his assist and goal, he completed 92% of his passes. He prevailed in four duels and made three critical passes.

Arsenal rises to the top of their Champions League group with the win. Lens will go to the round of 16 if they defeat PSV and defeat Sevilla at home.

First place would be guaranteed with victories over Sevilla and Lens in the upcoming two matches.

Sheffield United will visit Arsenal this weekend at the Emirates in Premier League play. Jesus’ hamstring injury makes him a severe doubt for the match.
