ARSENAL WILL PAY A REASONABLY HIGH PRICE TO LAND BARCELONA TARGET ARTHUR VERMEEREN.

Sport claims on page 12 that Arsenal will pay a high price to capture Arthur Vermeeren, who is wanted by Barcelona, during the January transfer window.

One of the top young midfielders in Belgian football right now, the 18-year-old recently shone against Barcelona in the Champions League.

The young Royal Antwerp player has been pursued by the Catalans for some time, but Sport reports that Arsenal is the favorite to sign him in January.

The expensive sum of €20 million will be paid by the north London club to get the teen.

Xavi Hernandez’s team is unlikely to spend that much in January due to financial restrictions. Vitor Roque’s registration remains their top priority.

VERMEEREN HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE A FUTURE STAR IN THE MAKING.

The young player is off to a fantastic start this year. He has one goal and five assists in just 15 games for Antwerp overall and across all competitions.

The 3-2 Champions League loss to Shakhtar Donetsk featured two of those assists. In addition to his contributions to the goals, he has shown excellence in distribution.

Vermeeren has played two Champions League group games and has completed 92% of his passes.

He engages in six duels and three tackles on average each game. He has only misplaced something 4.5 times, which is exceptional for someone his age.

We believe that over time, the Belgian could develop into a truly outstanding midfielder. Due to his exceptional talent, he has already been called the “next Andres Iniesta.”

It would be a major accomplishment for Arsenal if they were able to sign him in January. He has the potential to become a fantastic playmaker given his all-around talent.
