CARABAO CUP FOURTH-ROUND DRAW: MAN UNITED FACE NEWCASTLE, WEST HAM HOST ARSENAL.
The Carabao Cup fourth round draw has been completed, and Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal now know who they will face in the next stage of the competition.
The biggest upset occurred at Portman Road when newly promoted Championship team Ipswich Town eliminated Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, providing enough of discussion topics for the third round.
Omari Hutchinson, Freddie Ladapo, and Jack Taylor scored for the Championship team as they secured a 3-2 comeback victory after Gary O’Neil’s team had jumped up to a two-goal lead inside the first 15 minutes.
Man United, the current Carabao Cup champions, began their defense with a straightforward 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, but their next-door neighbors were eliminated in the third round.
Newcastle United defeated Manchester City at St. James’ Park thanks to a goal from Alexander Isak in the second half, while Chelsea defeated Brighton & Hove Albion by a score of 1-0 to earn just their second victory of the year.
In order to advance to the tournament’s fourth round, both Arsenal and Liverpool won, defeating Brentford and Leicester City, respectively.
Four Premier League matches are included in the Carabao Cup fourth-round draw, and they will all be played during the week beginning October 30.
