Just in: After the Treble  achievement, Pep Guardiola made a new decision on his exit.

When his contract with Manchester City expires in 2025, Pep Guardiola intends to depart the team, but he has already changed his mind.

The 52-year-old City manager is to leave the Etihad Stadium after a brilliant nine-year tenure, during which time he elevated the team to become kings of Europe for the first time. After City’s historic treble-winning 1-0 triumph over Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday, Guardiola spoke with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak regarding his future.

Guardiola is adamant on continuing to add to the Etihad Trophy Cabinet, especially after extending his contract in November, but according to the Guardian, he intends to leave at the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season. Previously, it was believed that the former Barcelona manager would desire to coach in Italy after managing in Spain, Germany, and England.

During his playing career, Guardiola briefly played for Roma, one of the top clubs in Italian football. He had always wanted to manage in Serie A. After departing Manchester’s blue side, the 52-year-old is rumored to have changed his mind and will no longer travel back to Italy.

Instead, entering the world of international management is thought to be Guardiola’s next logical move; he previously hinted as much in 2021. The former Bayern Munich manager said, “The next step will be a national team, certainly, if there’s a chance.

I must take a break; I must pause to observe, pick up tips from other players, and perhaps that is the path I will follow.I want to be a head coach at the World Cup, the Euros, and the Copa America.

Guardiola has also stated that, should the opportunity arise, he would be interested in the Brazil post. He declared, “It’s a fantastic national team,” amid rumors that the CBF, the Brazilian football federation, was considering hiring him. Brazil has always been and always will be a strong candidate or the favorite.

Even Brazilian legend Ronaldo thinks that Guardiola was targeted by his country before the World Cup in Qatar. Ronaldo said, as reported by Catalan media, “There was interest in Guardiola, it was discussed with Guardiola’s coaching staff, but he preferred to renew the contract with Manchester City.”

Guardiola is currently unable to even consider the upcoming season due to the commotion around City’s treble victory, which also includes the Premier League and FA Cup. “It’s impossible for me to think about next season because I don’t have any energy. He acknowledged that the break was overdue and criticized the rigorous club schedule.

“Our athletes are now competing internationally. FIFA and UEFA, consider it. People must return now that the Premier League is over, which was two to three weeks ago. It’s excessive.
