Erling Haaland disappeared from the list as Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City has been nominated for Premier League Player of the Season.

Erling Haaland, the top scorer for Manchester City, has been nominated for two Premier League Player of the Year categories, while Kevin De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola have also had outstanding seasons and are also candidates for year-end honors.

This weekend, City can win the Premier League for the third time in a row if they defeat Chelsea. If they fail to do that, they must either match Arsenal’s performance at Nottingham Forest or hope that Arsenal loses that game on Saturday night. Haaland’s 36 league goals, which set a record for the most Premier League goals in a single season, have proven essential to City’s title challenge.

With three more games, De Bruyne can surpass the joint record he shares with Thierry Henry (18 assists), which they both hold.

Both Haaland and De Bruyne are contenders for Player of the Year, joining a shortlist of seven players that also includes Harry Kane of Tottenham, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, and Kieran Trippier of Newcastle.

If selected as the Young Player of the Year, where he will once more compete alongside Saka and Odegaard, Haaland might win twice. Arsenal now has three nominations thanks to Gabriel Martinelli, and Brighton has two thanks to Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister. Sven Botman and Alexander Isak, who were recognized for their outstanding seasons, are two of Newcastle’s representatives.

For Manager of the Season, Guardiola is up against former assistant Mikel Arteta, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, and Fulham manager Marco Silva.
